If you let a property with gas in England, a Landlord Gas Safety Record (often called a CP12) is a legal requirement. Here’s what you need to know.
The key rules
- Every gas appliance and flue must be checked by a Gas Safe registered engineer every 12 months
- Existing tenants must get a copy within 28 days, new tenants before they move in
- Keep records for at least 2 years
